New song - Persona

[8:55:43 AM] Swatsinger: This morning, I wrote a melodic tune in A# minor with emotive features. I then spent two hours trying to get it to sound right with the right VST effects.
[8:56:01 AM] Gillian: Ah. Okay
[8:56:17 AM] Swatsinger: After doing that for two hours, I decided to fuck it, put it through glitch hell, and distort it to death.
[8:56:40 AM] Gillian: XD I see. and how did that turn out?
[8:56:53 AM] Swatsinger: Well, give me a second...
[8:59:00 AM] Swatsinger: http://www.divshare.com/download/12078674-806 - This is the original MIDI file.
[8:59:09 AM] Swatsinger: This is what happened when I got my hands on it: http://www.divshare.com/download/12078668-d10
[9:00:06 AM] Gillian: Quite the difference...
[9:00:33 AM] Swatsinger: This has led me to suspect that I should never, ever be left alone with a lot of VST plugins.
[9:00:48 AM] Gillian: I think I'd have to agree.
[9:01:05 AM] Swatsinger: But I just couldn't get it to sound right.
[9:01:41 AM] Gillian: Ah, okay.
[9:01:54 AM] Swatsinger: That noise actually sounds /better/ to me.
[9:02:08 AM] Swatsinger: A symptom of poor production skill and laziness.
[9:03:09 AM] Gillian: Yeah, it does to me too, just a bit. The original Midi doesn't exactly.. well, flow together, you know? After you got your hands on it, it at least went together a little....
[9:03:22 AM] Swatsinger: Basically, I stuck a big layer of static on it.
[9:03:28 AM] Swatsinger: There's no way it can't go together after that.
[9:03:33 AM] Gillian: Yep!
