At this point, I am obstinately refusing to focus on anything even remotely related to that Mordant album I was supposed to be doing.

New Song - Concordant
Huh, I think I might be doing the Aphex Twin over here.
I'm also sort of fond of this one. I'm getting a hang of programming in Renoise.

Two New Things
Here's two new things.
This one is a string composition, inspired by Koji Kondo's 'Calling the Four Giants' on the Majora's Mask OST:
Then this one is a silly Metro 2033 tribute (because I called it "The Ancients Still Haunt This Metro"):
They're both about the apocalypse, as related to the /v/idya. So some really nerdy stuff for Mordant.

NaNoWriMo (cont.)
I just won NaNo. Now I feel like never writing another word again. But I am done now. Back to my regular routine.

NaNoWriMo
I'm doing NaNoWriMo this month, so don't expect anything from me except for (hopefully) a bad 50000 word novel.

New Song - Renoise Gives Me Infinite Power
Taking advantage of the built-in sample-recording mechanism of Renoise, Swatsinger deftly smacks C notes on his bass guitar and resamples them to write some catchy tune for the hell of it:
This has nothing to do with Mordant. It's one of the songs I put in my folder tentatively titled "Throwaway BS."
P.S.: If you're like me and you love Planescape: Torment and the Planescape multiverse in general, give the game Zeno Clash a shot. It's really quite a good game if you can get over the bad voice acting and apparent immortality of the characters you beat the living shit out of.

New Song - All Shattered Buildings Sing A Song
I am writing another album called Mordant, about the apocalypse. It's conceptual, mostly, and very post-rock influenced. I'm going for a 'soundtrack' idea on this one. I've written a lot of songs, but I'm only going to release this one for now:
The full album will show up on Echo Obscura Records someday, when it's done.

Hell yes.

"Well, some details have finally been revealed at The Grand Masquerade convention in New Orleans, which is being held throughout the weekend. Ardwulf's Lair (via Massively) is reporting that the MMO will indeed be called World of Darkness, but it is actually based on Vampire: The Masquerade, which is the older version of White Wolf's vampire RPG."
YES! I will be playing this TIMES 1,000!
This also means that there's a good chance that White Wolf will someday pull V:TES back out of torpor.

New song - Persona
[8:55:43 AM] Swatsinger: This morning, I wrote a melodic tune in A# minor with emotive features. I then spent two hours trying to get it to sound right with the right VST effects.
[8:56:01 AM] Gillian: Ah. Okay
[8:56:17 AM] Swatsinger: After doing that for two hours, I decided to fuck it, put it through glitch hell, and distort it to death.
[8:56:40 AM] Gillian: XD I see. and how did that turn out?
[8:56:53 AM] Swatsinger: Well, give me a second...
[8:59:00 AM] Swatsinger: http://www.divshare.com/download/12078674-806 - This is the original MIDI file.
[8:59:09 AM] Swatsinger: This is what happened when I got my hands on it: http://www.divshare.com/download/12078668-d10
[9:00:06 AM] Gillian: Quite the difference...
[9:00:33 AM] Swatsinger: This has led me to suspect that I should never, ever be left alone with a lot of VST plugins.
[9:00:48 AM] Gillian: I think I'd have to agree.
[9:01:05 AM] Swatsinger: But I just couldn't get it to sound right.
[9:01:41 AM] Gillian: Ah, okay.
[9:01:54 AM] Swatsinger: That noise actually sounds /better/ to me.
[9:02:08 AM] Swatsinger: A symptom of poor production skill and laziness.
[9:03:09 AM] Gillian: Yeah, it does to me too, just a bit. The original Midi doesn't exactly.. well, flow together, you know? After you got your hands on it, it at least went together a little....
[9:03:22 AM] Swatsinger: Basically, I stuck a big layer of static on it.
[9:03:28 AM] Swatsinger: There's no way it can't go together after that.
[9:03:33 AM] Gillian: Yep!

Hahhah! What music?
I have not released a whole lot of music lately.
This is why.
...I'm sorry for that.
This is why.
Ooh my little pretty one, pretty one,
when you gonna get me to the Prime, Lasombra?
Ooh, you make my vitae freeze, my vitae freeze,
obtenetrate into my mind, Lasombra.
Such a dirty mind. Just can't get enough of
of the blood of a younger kine.
My my my my my my my Lasombra.
Come a little closer, huh, ah will ya huh,
Keeping it a secret gets to me,
Sabbat are the only ones with eyes, Lasombra.
Can't get enough
of the blood of a younger kine.
My my my my Lasombra!
When you gonna give it to me, give it to me,
it's just a matter of nobility, Lasombra.
You can sire me, inspire me,
or would you rather just drain me, Lasombra?
Never gonna stop, give it up,
such a Cainite mind. Can't get enough
of the blood of the younger kine.
My my my my Lasombra.
...I'm sorry for that.
